What To Expect

NOTE: Check Clinic Dates and Places make sure you have the right date, time and place; the last thing our Siskiyou Free Healthcare program wants to do is add difficulty to your life.

HOW WILL I BE TREATED?

Medical Treatment: You will receive the same medical care paying/insured patients receive; the only difference is everyone involved is volunteering their time.

Personal Treatment:  One of our central goals is to treat you with the utmost respect. If you need further care, we will refer you to local resources.

ARE THERE LIMITS TO WHAT CONDITIONS WE CAN TREAT?

Unfortunately, you probably know there are. Because of limited resources we cannot typically treat:

Chronic Conditions: These require frequent and regular visits. But do not despair, your visit is free. We will do what we can during your visit. We will help you find the services you need, either through government programs you may qualify for or less expensive sliding scale clinics.

Non-Emergency Pain Relief: Narcotics are  rarely prescribed except in the case of an  acute injury.

WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE MY VISIT BETTER?

Think About Your Symptoms: Why you are here and what you think is wrong?

Past Treatments: What other health care treatments have you received in the past?

Current Medications: What over the counter and prescription medications are you taking now?

Past Medications: This helps us know what/why/how past medications worked for you, and will help us better diagnose current problems.

What Did Not Work: Please let us know if any past treatments and/or medications did not work.

To help us serve as many patients as possible during each clinic, be ready to provide this information to the attending doctor and staff.

WHAT ABOUT MEDICATIONS AND SUPPLIES?

Sample medications and supplies will be provided whenever possible. High cost supplies such as casts, splints, and injections will be offered at cost plus 10%.

HOW CAN I HELP SISKIYOU FREE HEALTHCARE?
